Walt and I have been married for 40 years (September 1969). We moved to Walt's home town of Seattle in 1970 and have lived here since. I immediately fell in love with this place (so many trees!). When our kids moved out of the house we sold everything and moved on to a 43' sailboat, moored at Shilshole in Ballard. We lived on the boat for 11 years before moving off in October 2009. Now we live the winters in a motorhome and will live on the boat in the summer months--cruising the Pacific NW and Canadian islands.
What did you do right after high school?
I entered the nursing program at Harbor College and graduated as an LVN in 1967. I worked at the juvinle hall in Simi Valley for 2 years then at Harbor General Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse for 2 years before moving to Seattle.
What would we be surprised to know about you?
I am "adventure girl;" sailing the west coast from Everett Washington to Ventura Calif., backpacking to 8,000 feet, running six marathons, but haven't jumped out of a airplane...yet.
Any words of wisdom?
Live life fully, with someone who makes you laugh.
